2)    Increase gender equality within the workplace

Provide an equitable workplace with fair wages, career advancement opportunities, benefits, and decision-making structures for women

3)    Improve access to life-enhancing goods and services for female consumers

Enhance product designs and point of delivery experience through improved feedback loops with female customers

4)    Increase business opportunities for women in supply chains

Promote participation of women-led businesses and producers in the supply chain through fair contractual relationships

We have aligned our impact objectives and metrics with the 2X Gender Challenge – a commitment by the G7 Donor Financial Institutions and other governments to deploy over $25b capital to improve gender outcomes for women in developing countries.

Climate Lens

Given that women are disproportionately affected by the negative impacts of climate change, we will also support investee companies that are working to address challenges arising from the intersection of gender and climate.

Technical Assistance

CARE local in-country experts will provide technical assistance to the fund’s portfolio businesses to ensure they meet gender impact goals.

Our blended finance vehicle taps into philanthropic and mission-aligned catalytic capital to attract more traditional and commercial capital to invest in women-centered businesses.

Our holistic model economically empowers women – from women workers and consumers to supply chain business owners – and addresses gender-based violence and the intersection of gender, poverty, and climate impact as we work to shape the sector to deepen its approach to gender impact. We believe our gender justice investment strategy offers attractive returns to investors and will help identify and remove systemic barriers that hold back poor women in emerging markets to generate increased social and economic returns for all

Watch this short video, in which Minh Nguyen-Hiltunen, CARE Enterprises Technical Assistance Facility Director, shares her perspective about the value of achieving gender equity and addressing gender-based violence in the workplace.
